So Far, So Good
I was going to write more earlier... but thought I didn't have anything worth saying. Then part of me thought, "well, who cares. This is my blog, and if I want to fill it with drivel, I will."
But that still didn't seem terribly responsible.
Resolutions are going well - especially relating to work and school. Need to brush up a bit more on #4 and exercise. In typical excuse fashion... I felt like going for a run yesterday. But I don't have any jogging pants. So I had a nap instead. That's just a little more than counter-productive.
I had a blast from the past last night. Sandra's 60th birthday. I saw people who I haven't seen for ten years. And do you know what the great thing about it was? It was the same crowd who were always at Doug & Sandra's parties, that my parents would drag us to. And they all called me 'Robbie'. And it made me so happy and appreciative of all those parties.
I'm really getting into the handyman bit. Last weekend, Morgan and I (with some parental instruction) tiled the backsplash in our kitchen. This weekend, we learned to grout! I finally see the desire in just puttering around a house for a weekend, and how a fun retirement project would be to buy an old house, and fix something new every weekend. Though you can do that in a new house, too. Coffee, music, and working with your hands. Seeing the end result take shape. It is very gratifying.
I'm really starting to feel the push back towards law. At work, I had been feeling very caught-up in the idea of admin and sales and quality... which is fine; I will probably head in that direction for a bit, anyway. But I was on the JAG website today, reading about Military and Administrative Law positions. And then found a CANFORGEN on the Military Legal Training Plan (MLTP). Open to any serving CF member, regular or reserve, no matter the branch, MLTP could possibly pay for a portion of my legal education. Although it sounds like most careers in the CF, where they send you to school and you give them time back... it's a bit of an interesting twist. If you enroled off the street, you would be required to already have a law degree.
What an opportunity. I need to learn French.
Take care, my friends.
